Last Wednesday one of the biggest spammers from the universe was arrested by the FBI. His name is Robert Alan Soloway and he is 27 years old. This guy was sending millions of spam emails everyday. Authorities said computer users across the world could notice a decrease in the amount of junk mail after he was arrested. One guy that sends millions (!) of junk mail everyday. Good we don’t have too many of them (or are there already to many out on the web?).
Soloway is accused of using networks of compromised “zombie” computers to send out his millions of junk mail. A federal grant jury is charging him with mail fraud, wire fraud, e-mail fraud and money laundering. Soloway pleaded not guilty to all charges. Even with four of his bank accounts seized by the government he was still able to pay for his own lawyer. The guy must be making millions of dollars a year (if not month).
If he is guilty (what he obvious is), wednesday was a great day for the spamfighters
